In a generous move aimed at improving the quality of education in his constituency, the Member of Parliament for Roysambu, Hon. Augustine Kamande Mwafrika, has delivered 235 desks to Githurai Secondary School. This initiative falls in line with his unwavering commitment to ensuring that educational institutions in Roysambu are adequately equipped with resources to enable students to excel academically.

Githurai Secondary School, which is currently hosting its inaugural Form Four candidates this year, received the much-needed desks as part of Hon. Mwafrika's dedication to enhancing the learning environment for the students. This move is expected to significantly improve the school's infrastructure and create a more conducive atmosphere for effective teaching and learning.

But the support from Hon. Mwafrika doesn't stop at desks. He has gone further to pledge assistance in procuring a school bus for Githurai Secondary School. This bus will not only provide much-needed transportation for students but also alleviate the logistical challenges that the school has faced in the past. The MP has promised to have the bus delivered to the school by December 2023, ensuring that the institution can start the new year with improved mobility.

During his visit to Githurai Secondary School, Hon. Mwafrika also addressed the critical issue of teacher shortages, particularly the need for more teachers accredited by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC). He expressed his concern for the school's struggle to maintain an adequate teaching staff. As a first step towards addressing this issue, the MP has pledged to expedite the process of two of Githurai Secondary School's teachers obtaining their TSC employment forms this week.

In addition to his commitment to education, Hon. Mwafrika has called for a peaceful coexistence among legislators, emphasizing the need for a conducive political atmosphere. He stressed that now is the time for elected officials to put aside their differences and work together for the betterment of their electorates
