Kibera Kids Library E-Tutoring Cohort 1 Pilot Program Comes to a Successful Close.
The Kibera Kids Library, in partnership with Konnect, proudly marked the successful completion of the inaugural E-Tutoring Cohort 1 pilot program with a colorful wrap-up event held on Saturday, bringing together learners, facilitators, and supporters to celebrate four months of learning, growth, and achievement.
Launched as a pilot initiative, the E-Tutoring Program connected learners from Kibera Kids Library with volunteer tutor Hannah Lee from the United States through weekly virtual mathematics lessons conducted via Google Meet. The program sought to bridge educational gaps, expose learners to new teaching approaches, and build confidence in mathematics through consistent engagement and mentorship.
Over the course of four months, dozens of learners from different age groups and grade levels participated in the Saturday sessions. Through dedication and perseverance, they tackled a wide range of mathematical concepts while developing problem-solving skills, discipline, and confidence in their academic abilities. The program also demonstrated the power of technology in creating meaningful learning opportunities across continents.
The wrap-up event served as an opportunity to reflect on the journey and celebrate the remarkable commitment shown by the learners. During the event, participants shared their experiences and lessons learned, with many expressing appreciation for the knowledge gained, the encouragement received, and the excitement of interacting with an international tutor who is proceeding for a long holiday.
A key highlight of the event was the recognition of learners who demonstrated exceptional consistency throughout the program. These learners attended sessions faithfully every Saturday and embodied the spirit of commitment that the program seeks to nurture. Their dedication was acknowledged through special awards and educational gifts.
Outstanding academic performance was also celebrated.
